To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Trebuchets. Their superiority is extremely storied, and without a solid grasp of physics most 90 kilogram facts will go 300 meters past a typical viewer's head. There's also the mangonel, which is historically is known to have thrown logs filled with charcoal at enemy troops. This early version of the trebuchet originated in ancient China. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of this seige engine, to realise that they're not just awesome they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike trebuchets truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the existential catchphrase "Trebuchet good catapult bad" which itself is a cryptic reference to Christopher Gravett's "Medieval Siege Warfare." I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as the genius counterweight unfolds itself. What fools.. how I pity them.
