Yeah I had a friend who is a vet get mad at me for thanking him for his service on Memorial Day. I was like, "Chill bro. I was just thinking about you and appreciated your service."
He took it almost like an insult. Ever since then I've never thanked a vet for their service on Memorial Day. In fact, I don't say shit to them on this day now.
Silly question. Is Memorial Day only for those who perished during active warfare?
This is why I hate when people set off fireworks on Memorial Day Weekend. Random explosions going off on a day meant to honor lives that have been lost... It's not a good idea. I spent one Memorial Day Weekend at a small party and a veteran was in attendance. The neighbors started setting off fireworks and it shook him up pretty bad. It's disrespectful.
